Your first proper job, without the daily trawl.

Graduate schemes, junior, trainee, entry-level and apprentice roles in your country, gathered into one search that keeps looking after you have closed the laptop.

Entry-level jobs are scattered

There is no single place where first jobs are advertised. Large employers run graduate schemes on their own careers pages and open them for a few weeks a year. Smaller firms post a junior role on a job board when someone leaves. Trainee and apprentice jobs sit somewhere in between. Keeping up with all of it by hand is a job in itself.

This search does the keeping up. It looks for the words employers use for people at the start of a career: graduate, entry level, junior, trainee and apprentice.

How to set it up

  1. Choose "Graduate and entry level" from the ready-made searches.
  2. Choose your country. Add a town and a distance if you need to stay near home, or leave the town empty for the whole country.
  3. Leave out what does not fit. For example "sales" or "recruitment", if those are not for you.
  4. Add the employers you care about. Type a company's name into "Find a page by the company's name" and Jobofinder looks for its careers page on the application systems it can fill in. On those pages it applies for you.
  5. Decide what happens to a match. "Apply for me straight away", "Ask me first", or "Only tell me".

Why being early helps

A popular graduate role can draw far more applicants than the recruiter can read carefully. Many employers start reviewing as soon as applications come in, and some close early. An application that arrives on the first day is in the first batch to be read. That is the one thing about your application you can improve without changing a word of your CV.

You stay in charge

If you choose "Ask me first", every match waits for your yes or no, in the app or by replying on WhatsApp. If a form asks a question you have not answered before, the application pauses and the question comes to you; your answer is saved for next time. And for every application that is sent you can see exactly what went to the employer, which matters when the interview invitation arrives three weeks later.

Common questions

Which jobs does this search find?

Jobs whose title contains graduate, entry level, junior, trainee, apprentice or apprenticeship. "Graduate Engineer", "Junior Analyst", "Entry-Level Marketing Assistant" and "Trainee Accountant" are all found.

I want a particular field. Can I narrow it?

Yes. Type your own job titles instead of using the ready-made search, for example "graduate engineer, junior developer". On the Pro plan you can list up to twenty titles in one search; on Basic, one title or one ready-made search.

Will it change my CV?

Only on the Pro plan, and only if you leave CV tailoring switched on. It may shorten and reword what is in your CV to fit the posting. It does not add employers, dates, qualifications or skills, and a page called "What changed" shows you each altered line beside your own wording.
